Counseling Services
Individual Psychotherapy
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and I offer counseling and therapy services to adult individuals and teens over the age of 16 in the state of Washington. My training includes a wide range of methods and orientations including Gottman therapy methods, Dialectical-Behavioral, Cognitive-Behavioral, Mindfulness, family systems, and experiential and existential approaches. Sessions are geared towards gaining awareness, building on strengths, and deepening connections with oneself and others. I pull from each of these different perspectives to treat each couple, individual, and therapeutic relationship as unique and to empower my clients to create the change they desire for themselves.
Over the years, I have gained experience working with a wide range of individuals with diverse cultural and racial backgrounds, as well as varying gender identities and sexual preferences. I welcome individuals from the BIPOC and LGBTQA+ communities.
I have a hybrid practice of both in-person and online services. My physical offices are located in Bellingham and Lynden, Washington.
Couples and Relationship Counseling
I am a relational psychotherapist who specializes in working with couples. I work to facilitate awareness and provide support that is specific to the unique needs of each individual or relationship. I use an eclectic approach that draws from many different schools of thought, but I am primarily a process-based therapist. This means that I am primarily interested in the process by which my clients interpret, communicate, and make meaning out of their experiences. When working with couples, I draw heavily from emotion-focused therapy to facilitate emotional attunement, physiological regulation, and connection in intimate realtionships.
I have a special interest in helping my clients have fulfilling relationships, as I believe that well-functioning relationships reduce the negative effects of stress and hardship. I work to facilitate my client’s self-knowledge both individually and in relationships; knowing oneself is imperative to making satisfying choices and building meaningful connections with others. I have dedicated my post-graduate training towards specializing in working with couples and individuals struggling in relationships.
I enjoy working with individuals who are seeking to broaden their understanding of themselves and deepen their personal sense of intentionality and connection with themselves and others. I work with relationships of all configurations, including the LGBTQ community and non-monogamous styles.
